2009 Smart Growth Summit Recap

This year''s summit was a huge success thanks to our generous sponsors, inspiring speakers, and engaged attendees. All in all, we had over 700 Smart Growth movers and shakers networking, discussing growth in Louisiana, and having a good time solving the problems our state faces.  Check out the press coverage here.

As stated in the wrap up session on Friday, we hope everyone who attended will bring the messages and learnings from the Summit home to their communities and leaders. To help in that effort, we are posting audio recordings of summit sessions along with speaker presentations (when provided).

Please let us know if you have any specific concerns, questions or recommendations for next year''s summit by filling out our summit survey.

Need a refresher on the sessions? Download the agenda here.

Disclaimer: The opinions and attitudes expressed in these recordings are not necessarily those of Center for Planning Excellence or its employees. The Smart Growth Summit is a forum CPEX has provided for people of different minds, backgrounds, and perspectives to hold a healthy and productive debate over issues of importance to our state. CPEX encourages positive and constructive discussion with the goal of discovering and implementing effective solutions to the problems our communities face. It is the position of CPEX that if these conversations are not held out in the open with the input of the public, elected officials, and subject matter experts, we are less likely to improve our situation and grow into the safe, culturally unique, and economically outstanding state with a high quality of life that Louisiana can be.
